How to pay
outstanding demand in income tax:
Here is the step
by step process of paying outstanding demand in your Income Tax e-filing
account. Now follow the following steps:
STEP 1: Go to https://incometax.gov.in and open the home
page of the website.
STEP 2: Click on
the login button on the upper bar of the page.
STEP 3: You are
asked to enter your PAN number to login. Enter the PAN number and click on ‘Continue’.
STEP 4: Trick on
the box before the term “please confirm your secure access message”. Then enter
the password and click on “Continue”.
STEP 5: Now you
are logged in to your account. Place the cursor on ‘pending actions’ tab. A
list of some other links will be appeared on the screen. Click on the link “Response
to outstanding demand”.
STEP 6: The
outstanding demand page will be appeared on the screen. The available
outstanding demands will be appeared on the screen. Click on the ‘pay now’
option here.
STEP 7: A POP up
window will be appeared on the screen. Here you will see the amount you have to
pay. Click on the ‘Pay Now’ button.
STEP 8: In this
page a demand reference number will be created. Click on the ‘Continue’ button.
STEP 9: The
breakup of the payable amount will be appeared on the screen. Go to the end of
the page and click on ‘Continue’.
STEP 10: In this
page you have to select payment option like internet banking, credit card, UPI
etc. Select UPI here and then select the payment gateway from the list appeared.
Now select the SBI gateway and click on ‘Continue’.
STEP 11: Final
payment details will be appeared on the screen. Go to the end of the page and
click on ‘Pay Now’.
STEP 12: A terms
and conditions page will be appeared. Read the page and trick on the box before
“ I agree” and click on ‘Submit to Bank’ button.
STEP 13: SBI
payment gateway page will be appeared. Click on UPI tab here. The payment
reference number, payable amount etc. will be appeared on the screen. Go to the
end of the page. You will see two options one is VPA and the other is QR code.
Select the QR code and click on ‘Confirm’.
STEP 14: A QR
code will be displayed on the screen. Go to your mobile and scan the QR code
with your UPI app and complete the payment.
A message will
appear, it says “your transaction status is Success’. Click on OK here.
STEP 15: You
will be redirected to e-filing income tax website again. Here you will find a
button “download”. Click on this download button to download the challan.
Download the
challan for future communication with income tax department. Your outstanding demand
will be removed within 2 working days from your income tax e-filing account.
