How to create virtual Id in NPS account?

If you are a NPS customer and you are contributing to your NPS account through NPS app or NPS website then your contribution will be reflect within two or three days. You also get NAV of after two or three days from the date of investment.

 

Suppose today the share market is going down and you want to invest some money in your NPS account. But if you use the traditional investment through NPS app or NPS website then you will not get the same day NAV, you will get NAV of after two days. It may be happened that the market may go up again on the day you get NAV.

 

In such conditions if you get same day NAV means if you get the NAV of the invested day then it will be very good for investor. For that you will need a virtual account number against your NPS account. But many of NPS customers don’t know how to create virtual Id for your NPS account.

How to create virtual Id in NPS account:

In this article we are discussing the process of generating virtual account against the NPS account through NPS app. If you are using NPS app then follow the following steps.

 

STEP 1: Go to your NPS mobile app and login to your account.

 

STEP 2: Now you are on the dashboard of your account. On the top left corner of the page you will see a three line option. Click on this option here.

 

STEP 3: A list of some different options will be appeared on the screen. Click on the ‘Services’ option form the list.

 

STEP 4: Now you will be on the services page. Here you will see all the options under services. Click on the “Virtual Id” option.

 

STEP 5: In this step a message will be appeared. It says an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Click on ‘send OTP’ button here.

 

STEP 6: An OTP will be received on the mobile number linked with your NPS account. Enter the OTP here and click on ‘verify’.

 

STEP 7: Some benefits of VID will be seen here. Read the benefits on this page. Then select the account for which you want to create virtual Id. The account’s options are NPS Tier I, NPS Tier II and Both accounts. Select Tier I and click on I agree and generate VID button.

 

STEP 8: A new page will open. Here it says that VID generation request has been sent. Details of NPS virtual Id will be appeared on the screen. But it will be pending for confirmation.

 

Once your VID will confirmed you will received SMS and email form NSDL and then you will be able to transfer fund to the VID and gent same day NAV. To get confirmation from NSDL it may take one or two working days.
