How to check income tax refund status:

You can know income tax refund status only after your income tax file is proceeded. Hence if you have received income tax file proceed message then follow the following steps.

 

STEP 1: Go to https://www.incometax.gov.in and open the home page of the website.

 

STEP 2: Click on the login button on the top bar of the page. As you click on the login button you a new page will be appeared. In this page you are asked to enter your PAN number.

 

Enter your PAN number and click on ‘continue’.

 

STEP 3: Trick on the box before the term ‘please confirm your secure accesses message’ and enter your password. Then click on ‘continue’.

 

STEP 4: On this page you will see the status of your income tax return file. Now to know the detail status, place the cursor on the ‘e-file’ tab on the top bar of the page. Then go to ‘income tax return’ then click on ‘view file returns’.

 

STEP 5: Now your filed returns will be appeared on the screen. Click on the link ‘View Details’. The status of your ITR return will be displayed on the screen.

 

Here you will see another link ‘Refund Status’. Click on this link here.

 

STEP 6: In this page you will see your PAN number. You are asked to select the assessment year for which you want to know the status. Then click on ‘Submit’.
