How to update nominee in demat account through NSDL website?

 

Hello friends, in this blog we are discussing on the process how to update nominee in demat account through NSDL website. As you know you can add nominee in your demat account through your broker. But you can add nominee through NSDL website for all demat accounts, it doesn't matter in which broker your demat account is exist.

 

Therefore for those people who want to update nominee in their demat account we discuss the process in this article. We all know that SEBI has regulated guidelines to add nominee to all demat account or opted out nominee to demat accounts. It is mandatory for all demats. Hence we are describe the process from where you can add nominee for any demat account.

 

How to update nominee in demat account through NSDL website:

Before proceed to update nomination in your demat account you should keep handy DP Id and client ID of your demat account, PAN number and the mobile number linked with PAN card, nominee name, mobile number and email address of nominee, PAN or Aadhaar or Bank account or demat account number of nominee . Now follow the following steps.

 

STEP 1: Click on this link and reach to the NSDL demat nomination update page. In this page you are asked to enter your DP Id and client Id of your demat account and the PAN number of individual. Enter all the details correctly and click on ‘Submit’ button.

 

STEP 2: As you click on submit button on the above step an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number with PAN. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Submit’.

 

STEP 3: In the third step you will be reached on the nominee opted in/opted out page. Here you will see your DP Id, Client Id and PAN number which you have entered on the above step. You will see your DP name where your demat account is exist.

 

On the end of the page you will find tow options ‘I wish to nominate’ and ‘I don’t wish to nominate’. Select the second option ‘I don’t wish to nominate’ if you want to opted out of the nomination. Once you select this option and submit your demat account will not be freeze. You can trade continuously without any difficulty and can update nominee while you needed.

 

Click on the first option ‘I wish to nominate’ and click on ‘submit’ button.

 

STEP 4: A pop up message will be displayed. It says that keep name of the nominee, Aadhaar/PAN/Savings account/ demat account etc. of nomiee. Click on ‘OK’ here.

 

STEP 5: You will be redirected to nomination entering page. In this page you are asked to enter your first nominee name, address of 1^st nominee, mobile number and email address of first nominee, Aadhaar/PAN/Savings Bank Account/Demat Account of 1^st nominee.

 

Enter all the details of the first nominee and click on ‘Add Nominee’ option to add another nominee. If you don’t want to add another nominee then click on ‘Save & Next’ button.

 

Note that Rs.20/- will be deducted from your demat account if you update nominee online using this process.

 

STEP 6: Again a pop up message will be appeared. In this pop up message you have to confirm that NSDL will use your Aadhaar for e-sign. Click on the ‘Proceed to e-sign’ option.

 

STEP 7: In this page you can see the details you have entered on the above steps by clicking on the link ‘Click here to view document’. Then trick on the box before ‘I hereby agree for e-sign’ and click on ‘Proceed’.

 

STEP 8: You will be redirected to protean electronic e-sign service page. In this page trick on the box before the term ‘I hereby authorize protean e-Govt.’ enter Aadhaar number or virtual Id and click on ‘send OTP’.

 

STEP 9: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number with Aadhaar. Enter the OTP and click on ‘verify OTP’.

 

STEP 10: Your request will be accepted and once your application is approved your nomination will be updated. You will receive a confirmation.
