How to register in income tax e-filing new portal?

 

Hi friends, in this blog we are going to describe the process how to register in income tax e-filing new portal. We all know that the income tax department of India has changed their website in the month of July 2021. After that some changes also seen in the process of registering in income tax e-filing account.

 

If you have already registered with income tax e-filing account in the old website then you can access your account on the new website also. But those who didn’t register in the old website and who have to file ITR for the first time, they need to register in income tax website.

 

After register in income tax website you can file ITR online, download filed ITR forms, download tax credit form 26AS etc. Hence you can avail those facilities only when you have registered with income tax website.

 

How to register in income tax e-filing:

If anybody searching for how to get income tax e-filing password then you can follow the following steps. In these steps we are discussing the whole process of how to register in income tax e-filing website.

 

STEP 1: Go to the website www.incometax.gov.in and open the home page of the website.

 

STEP 2: As you open the home page of the website you will see an option ‘Register’ on the top bar of the page. Click on this option here.

 

STEP 3: A new page will open. Here you are asked to select the option register as. Select the option as ‘tax payer’. You are also asked enter your PAN number. Enter the PAN number here and click on the option ‘validate’

 

STEP 4: After click on ‘validate’ a massage will be displayed that PAN validated successfully. You need to select yes or no on the next step of the process. It asked to confirm if you want to register as an individual taxpayer. Then select the ‘yes’ here and click on the ‘continue’ button.

 

STEP 5: In this step you need to enter your last name, middle name and the first name, date of birth, gender and the residential status etc. of the individual. Enter all the details correctly and click on ‘continue’.

 

STEP 6: A new page will open where you have to enter your primary mobile number and email Id here. Enter the mobile number and email address belongs to as self, son, daughter, brother, sister, friends, relatives etc. After that you also have to enter the postal address here. Enter the postal address in this page and finally click on ‘continue’.

 

STEP 7: In this step an OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email address which you have entered in the above step. Enter both of the OTP in this page and click on ‘continue’.

 

STEP 8: In this step you are asked to verify the details once again. Check all the details you have entered here. If there is need to make correction here then click on the edit button and correct the details. If everything is ok then click on ‘confirm’ button.

 

STEP 9: In this step you have to create the password. Enter the password and confirm password here. Keep in mind that the password should be contain at least one capital letter, one small letter, one number and one special character. The password length should be minimum 8 digits. Enter a password of your choice.

 

You are also asked to enter a security personalized massage here. The personalized massage should not contain your name, mobile number, PAN number, date of birth etc. For example the massage should of this type “I love my father”. Enter a massage of your choice here. Finally click on ‘Register’.

 

STEP 10: A massage will be displayed saying that ‘Registered successfully’. Now you are registered to income tax website. You can now login to your account and file your ITR.
